Welcome the OB7 and OB7- Max 8 robots (also known as Lil Don and Big Don) to the Blue Grass Manufacturing family!
Introducing “Lil Don”
Lil Don is the OB7 model robot that weighs 58lbs, has a reach of 1000mm, payload of 11lbs, 7 joints, speed of 0-2+ m/sec, joint range of +/- 360°, and repeatability of +/- 0.1mm, 004”.
Introducing “Big Don”
Big Don is the OB7-Max 8 model robot that weighs 128lbs, has a reach of 1700mm, payload of 17lbs, 7 joints, speed of 0-2+ m/sec, joint range of +/- 360°, and repeatability of +/- 0.1mm, 004”.
With their 7-axis arm design, these robots bring intense flexibility, maneuverability, and seamless integration to our workplace. The OB7 family completely eliminates coding and programming. The robots just need to be shown how to do the job and it learns. These new additions are commonly called “pick and place” because of their strength. Functions including grid packaging, machine interfaces, stacking, and imported CAD paths are simple tasks the OB7 robots can complete, due to their human-like senses.
The OB7 and OB7-Max 8 will be utilized at Blue Grass Manufacturing to aid in repetitive movements and jobs. We plan to utilize our new robots for making any round part made on the lathe, pending weight restrictions and single operation jobs on the mill. This will be ideal for higher production quantities and time management between breaks and/or lack of employee presence in the workplace afterhours. Blue Grass is beyond ecstatic for the newly gained ability to run lights out and push repetitive tasks off of our operators and onto the OB7 robots while lowering operating costs.
