Draw Latches
Rotary Draw Latches
K2/K3/K4/K5 ROTARY DRAW
High working loads, convenient mechanical advantage, and compact size are common advantages that make these Southco rotary draw latches a good choice for co-planar applications where space and strength are important functional considerations. All metal construction, a durable rotary cam design, and good pull-up specifications give these latches a firm grip for consistent panel closure that resists accidental opening. Working loads vary by latch size and style.
Flexible Draw Latches
37 LEVER-ASSISTED LATCHES
Long handles provide added leverage for high clamp loads in closing these flexible latch bodies. Both of these lever-assisted latch styles are available in long latch bodies to cover long spans. And both include built-in detents to help keep handles in the closed position and prevent accidental opening due to shock or vibration. EPDM rubber latch bodies provide a high modulus of elasticity, giving them tight closure, vibration resistance, and the flexibility to accommodate mounting dimension variations.
C7 SOFT DRAW LATCHES
A smooth low-profile design, executed in a soft thermoplastic elastomer, gives this latch the ability to combine stylish looks with forgiving performance for vibration or misalignment in use. The ability to conceal all working mechanisms and mounting hardware under the closed latch provides a clean look in any application. The soft body construction of these latches quiets vibration and provides satisfactory performance despite misalignment.
37 ONE-PIECE FLEXIBLE HANDLE LATCHES
These industrial style handles are a very forgiving solution for imperfectly aligned panels in co-planar applications. Their flexible stretch-and-latch design and substantial handgrip area make them easy to engage in field conditions, even with gloved hands. The flexible, black EPDM rubber handles absorb and reduce vibration, and provide the flexibility to ensure tight latch grip despite variations in alignment and tolerance.
F7 FLEXIBLE T-HANDLE LATCHESCombining strength, ease of installation, and simplicity of operation, these heavy-duty lever-action latches provide door-closing leverage for heavier gasketed door applications. The single-motion opening action of latch applies built-in leverage against the keeper to provide mechanical advantage to help pry stuck doors open. Integrated latch and handle assemblies with over-center toggle action keep latches secure, and prevent accidental opening due to shock or vibration.
Concealed Draw Latches
R2/R5 CONCEALED BUTT-JOINT PANEL FASTENING LATCHES
These heavy-duty draw latches mount behind or within the mating panels for concealed operation. They are available in two tool-actuated styles that deliver exceptional strength and provide sufficient pull-up action to create a tight connection and seal. Pull-up action engages latches tightly and compresses gasketing for an airtight or watertight seal.
TL SLIDE LATCHES
Southco’s Slide Latches offer vibration resistance and tolerate misalignment to hold panels securely in place. Simple slide to latch, hand operation allows easy removal for access or maintenance, offering design flexibility for a variety of applications. TL Slide Latches tolerate a wide range of product variations, accommodating build tolerances in manufacturing, and allowing panels to self-align.
Fixed Grip Draw Latches
97 OVER-CENTER SERIES LATCHES
Lever-actuated operation creates over-center action, and the simple, attractive design of this latch incorporates natural tension right into the curved latch-spring mechanism, to prevent accidental opening. Multiple sizes, finishes, keeper designs, and other options satisfy a variety of application requirements. The curved latching blade provides built-in tension and flexing to absorb shock, vibration, or variations in mounting dimensions, without additional visible springs. Folding down the lever pulls mating in-line panels tight.
TL OVER-CENTER SERIES LATCHES
Southco’s Over-Center Series Latches provide a mechanical advantage through lever actuated, over-center action that pulls panels together and holds them secure. Available in multiple sizes, these latches offer design flexibility for a variety of applications. These latches are available in a wide range of wire bail options, including straight bails for maximum strength, and curved bails that flex to compensate for variation in mounting or gasket set.
V2/V3/V4 VERSA-LATCH SERIES DRAW LATCHES
The Versa-Latch design incorporates an external torsion spring to accommodate dimensional irregularities between panel and frame in applications where the latch and keeper remain on the same plane. This built-in variation accounts for irregularities or changes in panel or gasket fit over time. Multiple latch sizes, available in multiple materials, accommodate the same amount of application variances between frame and panel.
V7 OVER-CENTER SERIES LATCHES
A gently curved low-profile surface-mount design and an optional keylocking feature complement the robust performance of this latch with attractive styling and enhanced security. The high-strength body encloses all working hardware, for improved aesthetics and tamper-resistance. Fixed-grip design positions panels accurately. Simple lever action provides secure latching with quick and easy access.
07 LIVING HINGE DRAW LATCHESChoose this thin-profile design, featuring the leverage and secure closing of an over-center latching mechanism, for edge-mating panels. Simply snap it shut and flip it open. Slim-line styling presents a clean look with very little protrusion to disrupt the enclosure design or cause accidental snagging of personnel or clothing. Dual hinge points molded right into the latch body create over-center latching action with one continuous motion. The low-cost injection molded design is available with or without a secondary catch for added security.
Adjustable Grip Draw Latches
91 UNDER-CENTER SERIES LATCHES
Southco’s Under-Center Series Latches accommodate misalignment and provide robust, secure latching, even when the latch and keeper are not coplanar. Available in multiple sizes and concealed styles, these adjustable grip latches offer design flexibility for a variety of applications. Multiple latching options provide a wide range of choices for mounting dimension flexibility and grip adjustment, as well as the ability to conceal all mounting hardware and latching functions under the handle.
A1 ADJUSTABLE SERIES DRAW LATCHES
Accommodate high working loads and a wide degree of field-adjustable grip with these all-metal adjustable draw latches. They are a convenient solution for panel latching requirements where the keeper or latching point is not located adjacent to the latch body, and user adjustment is desirable. Long latching rods with threaded adjustment provide long grip ranges – up to 144 mm (4.50″) – and broad margins of span adjustment – up to 33 mm (1.31″).
E8 ADJUSTABLE STYLE DRAW LATCHES
Adjustability, durability, a low profile, and fully concealed hardware make this latch a great choice for enclosures in highly visible and high-traffic locations. Its fashionable looks belie its industrial-strength operation, while its non-corrosive materials make it an appropriate finishing touch to any indoor or outdoor co-planar panel application.
