Snaploc®

The Snaploc® fastener is comprised of two components the cap and pin. The cap is made from synthetic rubber and the pin is either plastic or plastic molded over metal. The cap is attached to one component to be assembled and the pin is threaded into the other component. The two components are then snapped together. They can also be "unsnapped" for disassembly. Snaploc® makes fastening easy as it:

  • Allows components to be snapped together
    quickly and without tools
  • Absorbs vibration
  • Does not squeak or rattle
  • Compensates for alignment of the components
with a large lead in taper in the cap

The Snaploc® fastener was developed to attach plastic engine covers to engines. It replaced standard hardware, isolated vibration, eliminated squeaks and rattles and made assembly a snap.

The Snaploc® is growing in popularity and application use as it is being used to attach other plastic components to cars and trucks. It is also being used to attach access panels to framing in transportation, office furniture and various types of equipment.
